That’s why Lumee Homes founders, Aimee Carpenter and Luke Dembeck, are reimagining how we build homes in the South.

The Vision for Lumee Homes is Born

The problems with homebuilding are solvable.

At least, Lumee Homes founders Aimee Carpenter and Luke Dembeck think so. With 40+ years of combined construction experience, they’re tired of seeing builders and homebuyers forced to choose between two extremes:

• Custom, high-quality architecture that often leads to budget surprises, scope creep, and endless delays; or
• Quick builds that save time and are more affordable, but don’t deliver on quality.

Having tackled some of the industry’s biggest challenges already, they believed there was a better way to build.

By combining factory-built precision with durable materials and a streamlined assembly process, Aimee and Luke saw an opportunity to make homebuilding faster, more predictable, and more resilient—without asking homeowners to compromise on quality or design.

The vision for Lumee Homes was born. 

Meet Aimee Carpenter: Co-founder and CEO of Lumee Homes

Aimee has spent her career at the intersection of building and clean energy. She got her start in construction before moving into solar in 2009, eventually rising to lead a residential solar company as CEO and owner. Over more than 15 years, she's guided teams and homeowners through every twist of the industry, from system design to sales to full-scale operations, always with an eye on making sustainable building more accessible. 

At Lumee Homes, Aimee brings that same blend of hands-on construction know-how and clean energy expertise to help create homes that are built smarter, healthier, and better for the planet.

Meet Luke Dembeck: Co-Founder and COO of Lumee Homes

With more than a decade of prefab and mass timber construction experience, Luke knows how to scale homebuilding without losing quality. Before Lumee, he ran complex construction logistics, including a 115,000-square-foot Atlanta office tower and one of the largest CLT residential deliveries in US history. He owns the design-to-delivery gap, applying his keen sense for the logistical space between design intent and what actually shows up on the truck on time, and in the right order. 

At Lumee Homes, he scales teams, systems, and partnerships while holding the line on craft, quality, and operational excellence. 

What is Lumee Homes?

Lumee Homes designs and ships climate-engineered, steel-framed home kits to small builders and homeowners across the Southeast hurricane coast. Every home is rated to 150+ mph and arrives with a continuous load path, impact-rated windows and doors, and resilient exteriors.

Shipped as a complete kit with engineered drawings, premium finishes, and MEP rough-in, the homes assemble on site in 8 to 12 weeks.
